Is It Just US Or Does The Chevrolet Camaro Look BETTER Than The All-New 'Vette?
Recently we've been doing some thinking. We've been seeing quite a few Chevrolet Camaros on the road and it's pretty hard not to as they are just about everywhere. And though it's been out for sometime, I have to say, it's still a damn good looking car.

Then again, so is the late 60s Camaro, which it heavily borrowed from! ;)

But herein lies the problem. The Camaro — from a design perspective — seems to hold more water than the all-new Corvette "Stingray."

Don't get me wrong. I think the new Corvette is a great looking vehicle and probably the best looking Corvette since the split window coupe; however, unlike the split window it is lacking that little bit of panache. It is angular, techy and forward looking but lacking that little oomph.

And yes the highly controversial rear end is Camaro-inspired. Not very becoming of a flagship product, I'd say.

That said, I'll leave the rest up to you: does the Camaro look BETTER than the all-new Corvette?

Its just you - the Corvette is a far superior design - more stylish and less feminine than the Camaro

While I agree with you that the Camaro looks better than the new Vette, neither satisfy my tastes or desires.

The Camaro is too big and overweight, while the Vette looks like bastard child of a Viper, Ferrari and Aston threesome that occurred in GM's bed.

Nope... Just you guys. I'm going by pictures. Have you seen the new Vette in person? The Vette is in a different league design wise than the Camaro. My buddy saw the vette in person and he though that it even looked better in person than in pics. Look at it this way, The Camaro is a high volume car designed to move metal. The Vette is the Halo car. Any one who thinks that GM or anyone else would design a Halo car that isn't more attractive than it's high volume seller needs to have their eyes checked.

I've seen the new 'Vette in person and found it to be quite "toy-ish."

I like it but not as much as I did in pictures.

Maybe in the right color with the Z51 package my mind will change...

no point in comparing the looks since the chassis and purpose are totally different, even though Camaros have traditionally had models that could come close to some Corvette performance parameters, and the new Z 28 will come even closer. Next gen Camaro will be on the ATS platform, taking a lot of weight out vs. the current Camaro

The camaro is a wannabe retro-car, the vette is far more forward thinking.

Frankly to me neither of them is very appealing. In fact they give me a headache just by looking at them. ;)

I would prefer to drive a plain Jane Jetta any day than one of these.

I must admit I have never been a fan of any of the muscle cars or Corvette. Having said that, they are a significant piece of Americana. It's just kind of strange how prior to this latest iteration, the Camaro has had no problem changing its design from the 70s to 80s to 90s and not clinging to its original 60s style. The Corvette meanwhile stayed to its design them throughout the last 3 decades. BUT NOW, the Camaro is going back to its 60s roots and represents that original design quite well, while the Corvette is straying away from its original theme.

Though some have said retro was a fad, it's clearly here and likely to stay...

There will always be a spot for uber futuristic cars but I'd argue that the retro trend is alive and kicking...

Agent 00R I must respectfully disagree with you.The new Vette to me looks head and shoulders better then the Camaro. The Camaro is certainly not bad looking. However it is big and bulky looking next to the Vette.Further I do not have any issue with the rear tail lights.I know that some Corvette faithful have wined about the change. However, a lot of people have complained that Porsche has not done enough to change the look of the 911.It seems like a double standard here. The angular look of the new Vette bring back the design of the original Mako Shark but in a modern iteration. There are enough(in my opinion) Vette cues that the rear light change is realtively unimportant. The Vette is much sleeker than the Camaro and in my opinion a lot more attractive.

I'd go with the Vette.

The Chevrolet Camaro, while attractive, reminds me of a football player: Strong, but a bit on the burly, massive side. Its powerful, but in a blatantly obvious way.

The Corvette though, is like a dancer. It's also mighty, but leaner and and seemingly a bit more graceful that its stablemate. Its potential isn't hidden, but neither is it quite so blatant as in the case of the Camaro.

The Camaro is a fist, all action and barely restrained energy; while the Corvette is sleek, its potential told through curves as taut as muscle.

Corvette looks like it's trying too hard to me, I like the square-ish design of the Camaro better... Neither have impressed me yet enough to want one though, cheap interiors- maybe the Vette has killed that old problem with new version
