Strong Demand for The NEW Audi TT

Budapest (ANTARA News) - German carmaker Audi is planning to almost
quadruple the number of staff employed to assemble its new TT model in Hungary by the end of the year, Audi Hungaria spokeswoman Monika Czechmeister said Friday.

Czechmeister told MTI news agency that the company would introduce two new shifts, bringing the number of workers up from 220 to 800, and boosting production from 20,000 this year to 50,000 next year.

Audi began mass production of the second-generation sports car in its plant in Gyor, in north-western Hungary, in June, DPA reported.

We wil have to wait till next Spring, but by that time, Quattro should be available with the 2.0 200 hp engine.

Automobile magazine largely panned the new TT. Said it was a gentleman's car or some such thing but not a fun drive. That's too bad if true. Audi started something great with the RS4 and they need to inject that aggressiveness into their other cars.

Right now you have a Hobson's choice between BMW for performance and Audi for styling and sophistication. Would be nice for Audi to boost the performance, which I think they will with the new A4 ...

At any rate, Audi looks to boost performance before BMW figures out how to make a beautiful car.

The new TT is hot and will sell extremely well, I didn't have an issue with the previous generation except my 1.8T Quattro was underpowered. If chewy is right then the 200hp Quattro should be a blessing since the 3.2 will not be too keen on MPG. I test drove the new A6 and loved the car, the only nitpicking I have with that car and my friend's S4 Cab is about the Steering feel. While it is spot on for accuracy it is too light for my taste. However, I didn't have that problem with the previous generation TT because the steering was nicely weighted!
