Luxury Hybrid Shootout - Lexus LS 600h vs BMW Active Hybrid 7 vs Audi A8 Hybrid - Who Comes Out On Top?
For the past few years, Lexus has been the only maker to offer hybrid luxury cars – but now some new rivals have arrived to turn up the heat.

In an effort to stay ahead, Lexus has treated its range-topping LS 600h to a host of upgrades. Yet it retains the old cars 5.0-litre V8 and electric motor, which aim to deliver strong performance and refinement with a dash of extra efficiency.

Another impressive win for the Audi A8L over the BMW 7-series and Lexus LS, except this time it's in hybrid form.

The Audi A8L achieved best-in-test 28.2 mpg compared to just 23.1 for the BMW Active Hybrid 7 and 16.1 for the Lexus LS600hL.

When the best-in-test fuel economy numbers are combined with a beautifully crafted and highly luxurious interior that feels more special than either of its rivals and a price 20,000 pounds less than the nearest rival, the Audi's victory is even more impressive.

Haha yes very impressive. The 200hp 4 cylinder FWD A8 amazingly cost less and was more efficient than the 300hp 6 cylinder RWD BMW, and the 350hp AWD Lexus. The Audi SHOULD be considerably cheaper and more efficient... What a dumb comparo. At least they acknowledge the 7 was much faster and fun to drive.

Interesting comparison but the article serves more to point out the underlying design differences between these models. I don't think buyers of cars in this price range look solely at price or mpg.

Massaging and airconditioned/heated seats are common options in cars in this price segment but I think the LS600hL is one of the few cars that offer reclining seats in the back. Of course one has to wonder "why would any driver care if his back seats recline or not?" The answer apparently is that the Lexus is intended to be a limousine; for the owner to be driven in and not necessarily for him to drive. Although no large luxury sedan is really a sports car the A8 and 7 Series at least make an attempt at making driving the car enjoyable.

Uhh... It's a 100% personal opinion about someone who you do not like, hence the word "Loser". And what does your reply have to do with the comparison test? You know… the actual subject matter of this thread. You obviously have issues staying on subject as evidenced by your current personal attack. That why you keep getting banned. When will you learn?

Despised? Do you really think I care what some people here think? All that matters are the Admins. You know, the same Admins that you manage to upset enough for them to ban you at least a half a dozen times. Enjoy....

Why do you bother always responding while accusing them of getting personal? If you didn't care you would simply ignore them, but instead we all are subjected to your non-stop back and forth just for you to have the last word. You obviously care what people think or you wouldn't keep reposting.

Hypocrite much?

Exactly why many of us stopped posting here, LexSucks and a few others clog this site with worthless arguing, and can never let it go.

I am telling you. These articles kill me. So the Audi won due to them liking the interior better! I am actually surprised the Audi is so Slow at almost 2 seconds slower to 60 mph.

They should throw a Tesla Model S in there as well, it is just about the same size!
