When I was a little 00R I remember being fascinated by police cars. I thought the light bars were SO cool, in addition to the upright shotgun placed in the middle of the two front seats.
Aside from the blaring siren and bash bars, there was something very cool about these utilitarian beasts. To think, I was feeling some affection for Chevrolet Impalas and Ford Crown Victorias — Police Interceptor, to those in the know.
But it seems now, more than ever, police departments are upping their game significantly. Across the globe departments are using some really high-end exotica in service.
I don't think anyone can top Dubai's law enforcement, which utilizes a Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador and now we're being told an Aston Martin One-77! But that's merely the beginning of the story as BBC Autos provides some guidance into some other seriously fast police whips.
