J.D Power does it again.....GASP! Is that a Merc and a Buick in the top 3!!!

Can it be Detroit? Can two homemade brands top out the premier European market for top honors in J.D Power & Assoc. Dependability study?

Mercury and Buick followed Lexus in initial ranking with Caddy taking the fourth spot and rounding the top 5 is Toyota. But that not being the only surprise....Audi and Porsche fall heavily from last year and to no big shock, Land Rover bottoms out.

What are the real feelings of the J.D Power "lists"?

I'd say that you can "enhance" your rating with JD Power with using the proper "influence" aka $$$$...Let's face it: a typical Mercury, Buick and Caddy aren't more reliable than an Acura or Honda and a Bimmer isn't more reliable day-to-day than a Ford or Hyundai...It's easy to prove - ask your coworkers and neighbors or look on the side of the road...Maybe they need a JD Power "Real World Reliability" study.

Highest Ranked: Acura CL
Runners-Up: Infiniti I35 (tie)

the headline fooled me, there i am thinking mercedes (it was always merc to me) have finally returned to glory, but no, it's a car brand i've never heard of.
is it a rebadged ford?

European cars being ranked low doesn't surprise me. Car reviews and recommendations coming from the euroland in the past several years have reported the same thing about BMW and especially Mercedes. The situation with Audi I didn't until now.
