RIM needs the money bad. An industry that is rapidly integrating technology into its product seems like a good place to look for it.

How much is it worth to a car company to fix a car with a software update instead of issuing a recall or service bulletin? Sounds like a good revenue stream to me. Or if they decide a software change to a car's fuel/air mixture would yield higher MPG, then download the change and advertise as continuously improving your car even after you've signed your first born away.

I see potential for this, too bad none of our companies had thought of this.
