BREAKING! Did Apple Just Render EVERY Car Company's Nav System Worthless With The Latest iOS In The Car?
As you're reading this Apple Computer is holding the WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.

And while they're announcing things like the new Mac Pro and iOS7 what caught the Agent's eyes is the iOS in the car announcement.

Apple showed a slide with the majority of brands (16 as of today) who are onboard from Chevy to Ferrari (Eddy Cue is on their board) but conspicuously absent was TESLA.

"What if you could get iOS on the screen that is built into your car, so that you could make phone calls, play music ... right on the screen of your car, or eyes-free using Siri."

Well yeah, no-brainer we knew that's coming.

Everything from calls to texts are manage and interacted with next generation SIRI.

Can you say BYE-BYE Sync, uConnect, UVO, BMW Apps, mBrace, etc.

We predicted this over two years ago while the other sites were re-hashing press releases and reviewing Mitsubishi's.

Exciting times and we believe EVERYONE is underestimating how much of a difference this will make to the bottom line for Apple.

Remember just a few years ago, how they were all racing to get an iPod connection in the car?

iOS in the car is the next big thing.

Telsa is not on the list because they are already miles ahead of what Apple is planning... today. You can basically run 3 apps at the same time, two on the 17" screen and one on the dashboard screen.

True... and what iAutoSpies fails to realize is that NOT everyone owns, uses or wants Apple/iOS products/services anywhere near their vehicles.

Thank you! This site worships at the altar of Apple despite the stock plummeting, Samsung obliterating their marketshare and Apple playing catch up in both hardware and software.

Bosshog, check your data. While Android market share world-wide exceeds iOS, Apple's smartphone and tablet market-share handily trumps Samsung's.

@ scenicbyway12

Your numbers indicate hardware sales, not os(operating system) market penetration. Android has been the leading mobile operating system for some time.

Android also has the better navigation software.

I was addressing Samsung vs. Apple market share on bosshog comments. Apple market is 38.9 vs. Droids 51.7 not bad consider 1 product against a lot of other makes.

A scout with a compass and a map has a better navigation system the my IPhone.

I've always felt that auto-makers' built-in Navigation systems are rubbish. Their user interface (UI) is terrible, and their cost is insane. You can spend $2K or more for crummy factory nav system, or $350 for a really nice Garmin unit, get lifetime free data updates, have integration with your desktop or laptop, etc.

I hope Apple does a really good job at this, and at a reasonable price. It's sorely needed in today's auto industry!

I have always just used the Google Maps app. I have never even used my nav system.
