So I'm confused. Did he die last year when the accident took place? Or did he just die recently from his injuries he sustained last year? And is this just now "new" due to the inquest to the cause and nature of the incident?

The track in question was used by Top Gear for filming, but is not the official Top Gear Track.

Apparently, he may have died recently of his head injuries which occurred last year.
