Feds Throw More Effort Into Convincing You That You Really Need That EV You Have Been Avoiding
Automakers and the Obama administration are still working to prod Americans to give electric vehicles a chance as efforts are made to improve the nation’s charging infrastructure and consumer perceptions.

At the Electric Drive Transportation Association annual conference here Tuesday, automakers touted efforts to improve charging times, and the U.S. Department of Energy unveiled a Web tool to help consumers see the cost differences between electric and gas-powered vehicles.

The department said eGallon offers “a quick and simple way” for consumers to compare the costs of driving each.

From the same politicians who convinced us that we need the IRS and bureaucrats to get between us and our doctor. The same people who convinced us that we needn't be concerned about gov't eavesdropping on all our online/phone activity.

Here's a thought: How about we let the market decide if EVs are the right choice?

They also told us in the 90's we should buy homes we can't afford. That worked our well.

Will be fun to see EVs on the side of the road in volumes when the juice runs out.

Onumbnutz is also working now to have special taxes applied to electric and hybrid car owners that bought into his green pipedream fantasy. He now realizes that electrics don't use gasoline so the owners pay no road use fees or taxes that are applied to gasoline purchases. Duhhhhhhhhhh.

Hope you electric enthusiasts enjoy the new layer of taxes that odumbo is adding to all his other new taxes. And remember, obama promised no new taxes! You can trust obama's word. He wouldn't lie, deceive, corrupt, mislead, connive or be dishonest, would he.

The day they make an EV that can comfortably carry a family of 4, a dog, luggage and plow through 5-15 inches of snow with no problem, i'll consider it. Until then... Stop f'ing with our cars and trucks you scumbags.

mrcassis, bigoted mockery is no substitute for facts and reason. If you'd like to add something substantive to the conversation, we welcome it, even if your opinion differs. If all you have to offer is spiteful attacks and bigotry I think you'll find a more likeminded community on Huffington Post, Slate and msnbc.com.

MBCLS07: What bigotry? I'm simply rounding up the posse so we can unite and BASH OBAMA. Whats wrong with that? He's an ignorant, incompetent, lazy fool who is bringing down, among many others, the auto industry. Us regressives and conservatives alike ALL agree on that. So..........where are you getting bigotry and Slate and all that from???
