This Is What You've Been Waiting FOUR: The 2014 BMW 4-Series Coupe. MORE Pics!
One of the most hotly anticipated all-new debuts for the 2014 model year is the BMW 4-Series coupe. And, as one would expect, it has garnered plenty of attention on this lovely Friday.
Though the embargo was set for a 6:00 p.m. ET unveil, folks just couldn't wait to let the curtain drop. Here she is, in all of her glory.
From the initial commentary and feedback we've seen, it seems as though folks were expecting something a little more edgy. Then there's the purists who are crying bloody murder. Rightfully so. I have to say those side vents are brutal, even if they do reduce drag.
If you like the 3-Series sedan then you shouldn't fret too much as this vehicle isn't too far off despite the nomenclature change.
Set to arrive at showrooms late this summer, the all-new 4-Series is here to stay so you better get used to it.
Question is this, though:
are YOU happy with the end product?

I don't like this new 4-Series coupe designs at all and I think the last generation or 328i and 335i coupe better. I don't like the front lower bumper on this new BMW 4-Series coupe because it remind me of the Hyundai Genesis coupe.
And the rear taillights which has an orange on top instead of all red tail lights look really weird. I think it look better if it was all red. And that front side air vent or whatever you call it behind the front wheels look kind of odd. I like the 335i coupe better.

The side vent is so out of proportion with everything - if it was more in scale with the car (like the 1M) then it would look a lot better - and not so "Pep Boys". The front bumper looks strange with the center section (on non-Msport) black and the outside portions body color, it almost looks like the middle portion of the bumper is missing

And the same was said on the last gen, sort of current gen, coupe. No one liked it and the E46 coupe was the sexiest BMW out there. After 1 year, everyone said, "god, the E46 coupe looks so dated and boring. I love the new coupe!"
I want to see it in the flesh. Sit in it, drive it, get a better sense of it. Then I will make my judgements.
But so far, I like it. The interior is better than the exterior.

seems I only love the design when equipped with m sport pkg, probably deliberate on bmws part... lower fascia not attractive without the msport and the side vent is not doing much for me either... oh well... liked the look of my 09 335 coupe with sport package car better

Great designs have a tendency to get more beautiful over time: Audi A5/S5, current Cadillac CTS, BMW E39/F10/F11/F07 5 Series, Mercedes W219 CLS, Jaguar XJ X351, BMW E38 7 Series, etc.
This new 4 actually gets more UNattractive the more I look at it. Strictly from a design perspective, I can't see why anyone would choose this over its intended competition. And its driving dynamics may come into question considering recent BMW reviews.

I have to admit the more detailed pics of the interior (and exterior) look nicer here than the last post.

The competition is honing in way too fast to create something this...lackluster. It's not awful...it's just your average BMW.
