LS design theory in the 90's = Copy German Manufacturers

LS design theory in the 00's = Copy Germans but add a little twist of their own.

which in turn = OVERPRICED CHEAP ASS LOOKING CARS, THAT QUITE HONESTLY ARE SUB-PAR TO THEIR GERMAN COMPETITION. Why would i spend $50k+ on a lexus when i could go buy a Mercedes which will offer me top notch quality and design for the same price...

just doesn't make sense.

That has a decidedly German look to it. Good cut and paste Lexus. Now back it up with some performance to match.

This is good, but the IS is the best new Lexus, the GS is the weakest.

This LS design is bigger has more power than the previous ones, I beleive it will have even better ground than the previous LS models. However, IF the front is smoothened a little more, it will kick ass.
The side and back of the car is unique to it, but the front is not, I think Lexus should've seen this before launching it, and I'm sure they will refresh the front 3 years after launching this model.
Back to germen cars, ufff, I don't know why people get offended when Lexus comes up with a new model?
Is that fear of taking over I feel?
Well, if you look at Lexus's time line, you have to admit that they came a long way, competing with Germen cars. e.g. the LS400/430 was always compared against the bigger engines S500 and 745iL and it came 2nd/3rd. ONE time ONLY it was compared against S430 and 740i, and it came in 1st place.
Personally I've driven many cars and I love all cars, I don't care if they're Japanese or Germen (my favorate two), I've driven S430, 745iL, and an older model LS400. I would rather drive the LS400. I've driven the new LS430 and would even look at the S430 nor the 745iL from comfort side. The ONLY thing I like the about the Germen cars is the back seat room, and with this new LS460L I look forward to check it out.
I've also driven new S65, it has power and fun to drive yes, but it has a huge engine that's why of course. Put that much muscle in a Lexus, tune the suspension as they're done in the MB and BMW, and I know you'll get far more performance.
In short, as Japan dominated the US market and just killed our product life, sadly, in few year I beleive they'll do the same to the Germen. And if they do it, then good for them and its a shame on us Americans not to be able to compete in this industry at all, I hate that.

efox, even tho I like some Audi's, in general all their designs have been plain. "top-notch interior" ohh please dont even go there, cause all Audi interiors are over-rated. Audis are fun to drive, but not funner(i know its not a word) than BMW. There's no "style" in any Audi, they just lack that passion, at least for me. And to add, Ive been in and drove many Audis, so this is not comin from someone who has been around Audis for a while.

Lemme give you a lesson in common sense... When you own something, that thing doesnt produce you. You produce it... ie. when Mercedes owns Chrysler, mercedes makes chrysler...

I like the new LS (except for the rear and interior). It's very conservative as usual, but an evolution of the older LS.

Also, I don't see any Mercedes or European design traits in it at all. It looks very Japanese to me. Also, people always said older LS looked like a Mercedes W140 S-Class. Huh? I never saw elements of that car in them.
