DRIVEN: FIRST Impression Of The All-New Porsche 911 (991) GT3 — BEST Sports Car THIS Reviewer Has Ever Driven?
When I first drove the then all-new Porsche 911 (991) Carrera I was dumbfounded how great it was. It did everything amazingly. Sure, the detractors bitched about the electric steering but it felt fine to me.

And that car's great and all but I've been thirsty for the all-new GT3. It's just that much more of an elevated driving experience. You could say that I am looking forward to the all-new GT3 but I think that's actually an understatement.

I am completely captivated by the spy videos I saw pre-launch. But now the vehicle's finally making its way into reviewers' hands abroad.

As I've said numerous times before, one guy I've been following is Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe. That's because when he has driven the same products I have he honestly points out the good and the bad points.

In reality, some of the other guys are "in the bag" or they are making stuff up. Sutcliffe doesn't pull punches.

So when he says that the all-new GT3 is the best sports car he's driven, that's a seriously bold statement given his expertise and ALL the vehicles he's piloted recently.

Steve Sutcliffe drives the new £100,000 Porsche 911 GT3. Could it be the world's best sports car? You bet it could.

Yessssss! This is so exciting! I have the luck of having the very first one on order in RI and can't wait for it to arrive. I've also had a down payment on the next RS for 18 months so I am truly excited by Steve's comments and Chris Harris'.

In anticipation, I recently took part of Porsche's advanced driving course in Birmingham and got to drive Carrera S, Panamera GTS and Boxster S on the track and all were exquisite but this, well, I'll let you know when I finally drive it...

This feels like a shift in technology focus... Finally, technology is focused on enhancing the driving experience, not just the safety or the speed/acceleration.

Good Choice! I had a chance to buy a 997 GT3 and after experiencing the stiff clutch, jarring ride and constant interior noise, decided it would be a poor daily driver. The 991 GT3 seems to have eliminated the clutch and ride issue. I think I'll see if I can get an allocation and give up the R8.

pcar4evr, the GT3 is a track car and obviously is going to have a stiff ride. Why don't you just keep it for the weekends or something instead of a commuter? The R8 has a smoother ride but isn't as involving as the GT3 on the track.

The R8 I have is a manual trans. v10 spyder - definitely not a track car. I think have the boss'(i.e., the wife) OK to keep the R8 and trade in our Audi TTS on the GT3. We both love the R8 too much to give it up. Now I have to see if I can get an allocation for the GT3.
