RENDERED SPECULATION: Lexus' Next-Gen SC Could Be The LF-LC Hybrid Concept

RENDERED SPECULATION: Lexus' Next-Gen SC Could Be The LF-LC Hybrid Concept
In the past 12 months, one vehicle that has made its way around the auto show circuit is Toyota's Lexus LF-LC Hybrid. As a big-body, two-door coupe, it appears to us that it will go up against the likes of the BMW 6-Series and Mercedes-Benz SL. Of course if this car becomes a reality and we get a better idea of how it will come to life in terms of power and price, we'll know which vehicle(s) it will square up against.

Thanks to our friends at Club Lexus, we now have images from Japan's Best Car magazine who did a write up on the LF-LC being the next-gen SC replacement.

You may remember the SC as easily one of those droopy designed hard-top convertible that was a hit among female Hollywood stars.

Now if the LF-LC replaces it, I'll tell you that would be one helluva upgrade. And that's because the LF-LC Hybrid is a particularly stunning design end-to-end.

We'll keep you updated if we hear anything regarding an all-new SC. Stay tuned.

Are we getting closer to a replacement Lexus SC? By the look of things, it certainly looks promising. In the latest issue of Best Car Magazine, a new rendering of what the next Lexus SC has been published. Heavily massaged off the Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Concept, this SC rendering has the qualities of being the next generation and more.

The signature spindle grille is the basis for the front end accented by the controversial split LED DRL and headlamp assemblies...

Scoop rendering combines IS and LF-LC nicely, but still they should just go for the latter completely, other than the rear.

500 PS 4.6L V8 will be interesting, though I'd prefer an FI 2.5L V6 for better weight distribution, and lower CG.

Yes, this car is HOT! Hopefully, they do stick with this rendering and don't deviate from it like the "goofy" looking IS (since they are aimed at two different customer levels). BTW It looks like they are doing extremely well with the new ES 350s, here in JAX they are everywhere.

If Lexus can recapture the magic of the first SC and forget the second gen even existed, they'll have a hit on their hands.

makes no sense. how is this related to the old lady SC that finally died in 2010? does anyone actually think lexus would make a car this 'out there?' they'll just take the weird grill and assorted elements and slap them on to the same basic old bodies...just like the LS and IS.
