SPIED + VIDEO: Jaguar's Upcoming F-Type Coupe Caught On Camera On The 'Ring
Jaguar's F-Type roadster is starting to trickle into dealer hands and roll into customer's driveways but I have to say that I don't think that's the most exciting part just yet. What do I mean by that?
Well, I just had the chance to drive the open-top car on an autocross event held by Jaguar and I'll tell you straightforward: it's a great product. BUT, I am not all that much into convertibles. They're great fun BUT I can't see myself owning one.
If I am going to spend some coin on a sports car, I want it to be a coupe so I get all the utility out of it. That's what I am waiting for, the coupe.
And while we've seen snaps here and there, we've finally got video of the F-Type coupe making its way around the world famous German track, the Nurburgring.

After the presentation of the Jaguar F-Type Roadster, they are now working on the F-type Coupe. Don't expect to much changes from the design of the concept car C-X16, which has unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show IAA in 2011.

The spoiler, perhaps automatically deployed seems different than the concept car. I was rather hoping the rear glass would open to the side like the old XKE/E-Type coupé.

It looks beautiful--but also suspiciously like the rear of the Pontiac Solstice Coupe--U shaped back window and all. Since Pontiac was closed right after production started, very few were made, so most people probably never saw one.
Also--I can only imagine that the Jag designers love Siamese cats, because so many of their car fronts have a slightly cross-eyed look!
