The First Salvo in the Upcoming Muscle Car Wars

So our boy, Chrysler PR man extraordinaire, Jason Vines, was looking rather worried there behind the Dodge Challenger concept car at the PT Cruiser and Dodge Challenger press event this AM. At the time, we couldn't figure out exactly why -- and although it seemed like he was looking at something over on Woodward Avenue we'd had too little caffeine to justify something as simple as turning around and looking. It wasn't until we were glancing through main-man-with-the-cam James LaMoreaux's photos a few minutes ago that we realized why he was wearing such an annoyed face. Who cares? Camaro, Challenger, Mustang they're all unimaginative, uncreative, retro POS. The only people I see buying these vehicles are white trash redneck hicks or old guys trying to relive their past.

I love this website and how the people on here appear so much more sophisticated than other sites. Post an article about a domestic and no one gives a $h!t. The first comments take forever to appear. No heated arguments unless it is being compared to an import. Now, post something about an import and the comments start to fly, everyone defending their favorite. I think we should just get rid of all domestic articles.

On that line of thinking, lets get rid of all Republicans, women with brown hair, and dogs weighing more than 30#...since you may not want to see or hear from them either.

Here at autospies, we hear news from ALL sides of the auto industry. I, too, am more intrigued with upscale imports since they seem more exciting and better made (arguably, of course). However, I do enjoy musclecar news as well.

It does seem like the poster here are so bias, if you mention Audi, BMW or Mercedes everyone comes out the woodworks.

Personally I have my preferences, but I do have respect for many car companies, including the German brands.

AutoSpies, at least per the preference of most of its participants, sadly, should not be called AutoSpies.

It should be called "My favorite and emotionally attached German car that I will defend against its slipping quality reports to my last breath while I denigrate all other brands in the process...spies.com."

In enjoy and appreciate news on all automotive brands. I drive Mercedes, but I'm no blind loyalist. Times when my new E500 is in the shop (again!) and I'm too embarrassed to tell my neighbors the truth, I would welcome a nice ride in a classic American musclecar or a retro of the same any day. True auto enthusiasts are not ardent, emotionally partisan brand loyalists, at least to the effect often witnessed here.

Of course, we do have good balance in this particular thread for a refreshing change. Hats off to the last three posters.
