SPIED On The Street: Agent 001 Shoots The All-New 2014 Infiniti Q50 INSIDE And OUT
One impactful all-new vehicle coming to market for the 2014 model year is the Infinti Q50. If there's one vehicle that stands a chance at matching the BMW 3-Series, we'd guess this will likely be it.
The reason I say this is because I mightily impressed by the Infiniti G37 sport sedan when I had the chance to pilot one a couple of years ago.
All-new for 2014, the Q50 not only brings a nomenclature change from the existing G but it also gives us a glance as to where Infiniti will be taking its styling and interior technology — more about that later. This is one of the brands top sellers so you know they can't mess this one up. And, from what I can see, the more I look at the Q50, the more I am beginning to dig its style.
One peculiar thing I've noticed on the inside: Check out the seats! What do YOU make of the perforated leather seats that have that stripe pattern?

Exterior isn't bad, but it doesn't feel premium enough, looks too much like a Hyundai, especially the rear. Fog light area seems a bit to messy.
Interior is PRETTY bad...can't stand all those finger prints....

I believe it's the other way around, e.g. Hyundai copying Infiniti. Hyundai is notorious for copying other manufacturers.

The exterior is pretty bad as it looks like they have been in talks with Acura and Lexus. The interior looks cheap. Such a disappointment as I liked the G37.

The exterior is a good evolution, but that C-pillar kink completely ruins a pretty decent design. The interior still looks cheap and doesn't even come close to competing with the Germans' interiors or even the ATS.
My feeling on the Q50 is the same as the Lexus IS. Two cars that were always pretty high on my potentials list have now completely dropped off. Both have overstyled exteriors. Both have underwhelming interiors. For some reason, 2 of the last 4 pics above (of the seat and inside door panel), just screams "GM rental car".

I think it's currently the best looking car in it class from an exterior design point of view. I love the interior as well but there's one big problem the leather seat in this particular model look very cheap. Maybe they should went with black leather should've look better.

I like the front. The rear is ahhhh. Nothing to write home about. Interior is fine except for that screen in the middle. Not a big fan of this dual touch screens the Japs have been using. Im sure performance will be there. As mentioned above, this will look much more premium with a black interior as opposed to that tan leather which looks cheap on mosy entry level cars.

Looks too much like the current M, which IMHO isn't that nice.

The whole idea of understated luxury, completely thrown out of the window.

Interior a dissapointment. Not really breaking any new ground and really more of a slight evolution of previous Infiniti/Nissan designs. Also the fake wood looks cheap. Exterior. Again not a home run here.It looks more like Inifinity just integrated extra sill and front spoiler extensions on to the previous G35 and G37. There is not enough of that "concept" coupe design in the real model. Frankly the Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 offer a more upscale sophisitcated exterior design then this Infinity does.
