GM drops XM radio pricing
General Motors cut the price of factory-installed options of XM Satellite Radio in its 2007 vehicles, chopping the cost 39 percent in an effort to boost the flagging satellite radio industry and GM’s own cloudy financial picture.

The XM radio installations will now cost $199, as opposed to the old price of $325. The Detroit-based automaker said that more than 90 percent of its 2006 and 2007 model-year vehicles offer XM as either standard equipment or as an option.

Didn't Hyundai say it will offer it standard in the future. 199 is very cheap, most offer it for about 500. I have read that the Satelite radio companies aren't doing too well as they are spending too much to get listeners but aren't making much. Maybe the $10 a month is a bit to much for most people.

GOOD! I have always thought it was expensive in any car, considering you can buy the external models from XM for like $89 bucks.... I like XM because they offer more music channels where Sirius offers more talk radio... VW has it right and allows buyers to choose between the both of them....I have never understood why some manufactuerers only offer one,,,

crngeneer16...yeah XM is so much better. I would love to pay for a radio service and have commercials on my music stations. Also, I'd be more than happy to pay to listen to their number one talk show hosts Opie & Anthony, eventhough they do their same exact show over the free airwaves on regular radio. Wait a minute why am I paying for radio when I get the exact same thing when I tune to any FM station for free? In case you didn't get it I was being facetious. Too much talking on Sirius? Their called DJ's and they actually help out the station more than you'd expect.
