Yes, the new LS is the first car to have the system (optional) still as you can see in the BMW demo it "parked" the car in basically "perfect" conditions with plenty of space in front and rear and no cars to the side. I am sure the Lexus system like the BMW system can work, but the real world is different from PR videos.

Yeah..it might new for the BMW brand but it old news for the Lexus. The new Lexus LS already had this option. So I guess BMW is playing catch up tech with Lexus engineering, LOL;) ah.. ha..ha..

On the other hand, I must give Audi credit the RS4 for it design. I think it look more aggressive than the new up and coming M3. But the new M3 is coming with more horse power, so I think the new M3 is going to beat the RS4 from 0-60 time. But on the other hand Lexus is coming out with the IS500 with 420bhp of their own. It going to be an amazing race between the Audi RS4, M3 and the Lexus IS500.

I understand, Lexus will actually sell its own version, that was just a video for BMW they aren't selling the version right now. About the IS500, it looks like it might have been scrapped.

the product is a Bosch product that will be in all the high end cars i am sure
the word is the LS will get it first because it is the next new car.

A lot of these features are a oh wow feature but IRL most people don't buy it or use it. A good exmple is adaptive Cruse control

I love it but most people don't spend the $3K for a good radar based one (not one of the cheep lazer ones)

this parking system can't "shuffle" into a space, so only massive spaces work, and i think most people can do that.

Toyota fitted a Japanese version of the Prius with this system back in 2003.

BMW is falling behind with developing new technologies if Lexus thought of it first. Now BMW is taking Lexus ideas. That's a first.

^^^ totally agree. Only Lexus drivers cant parallel park or for that matter just plain drive. There is no need for this feature in BMW.
