Are YOU Happy Now? BMW Fanbois Unite And Weep Over Their
One of the biggest complaints about the outgoing BMW 3-Series coupe (E92) was not its lacking steering feel over previous generation cars or that its price had taken another leap. It centered around one, frankly, nuanced area. The lack of a limited-slip differential (LSD).

For wannabe Michael Schumachers and fanbois needing to prove their street cred this became a topic of discussion. Typically it involved a lot of puffing muscles and saying how BMW was essentially trying to hold them hostage to get an M3 as it did have an LSD.

Good news though, sports fans! BMW has officially made it official that it WILL be offering an LSD in the all-new 4-Series coupe as an OEM add-on through its M Performance parts catalogue.

No word on price just yet but I'd say be ready to bring cash. A lot of it.

You know what they say..."Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it!"

...BMW will finally offer an optional limited slip differential (LSD) as part of the M Performance Parts catalog. The LSD will be a clutch type unit and feature a 30% lockup. LSD may be offered for other models eventually, depending on how well it sells for the 4 Series.

The M Performance LSD will join the other mechanical upgrades we have seen in the
F30 3 Series Catalog - the M Performance Power Kit (+33 hp / + 37 lb-ft), exhaust system, brakes, suspension (10mm lowering), and a new style 20" M Performance wheels...

Agreed, the lower grill is a bit too busy, they could've cleaned that up.

These are good steps in the right direction, I just don't get the weight of the 4 series. The fanbois kept telling us that BMW's Efficient Dynamics program would deliver a car that was 200 to 300 pounds lighter than it's predecessor, yet BM took the 4 series in the opposite direction. The 435i xDrive Coupe weights in at a staggering 4,650 pounds - - - what a pig for a 2 door sports coupe. This make the S5 at 3,858 lbs look positively svelte.

That's a typo. I actually just called BMW NA, and they confirmed it is a typo. Check the website in the next two day it should change. The weights are 1000lbs off so the 435xdrive is 200lb lighter than the S5..

4650 would make it like a 7 series.. i actually like this design overall and think it looks good with the carbon fiber upgrades..
