BIMMERFEST EAST 2013: 00R Picks His Favorites From The BEST To The BEATEN

Even harder than driving down to Bimmerfest, and spending the day shooting it and sweating buckets, is trying to pick your favorites. I know because I've done it several times now.

The reason is simple: there is SUCH a HUGE selection of amazing vehicles with an unbelievable range of style and attitude it's really hard to pick what you really love. And that's why I dig this event. It gets me thinking.

Take, for example, the two folks I came down here with. Not only did the husband and wife duo have a blast but it's been confirmed: she wants a manual E90 M3 and he wants an E30 — that nicely looked after dark blue one in the fifth and sixth picture below would be a good starting point ;) — to add next to their E36 M3 drop top.

For me the thought of a matte Techno Violet-wrapped 1M with a set of BBS FIs really would be supremo but that wasn't at the show. However, an E36 M3 in Techno Violet was there and the owner has essentially made it a lightweight edition by adding the parts "over the years." That man is a genius, folks. Easily my favorite car of the show.
