REVIEW: Lincoln MKZ Gets Taken Out To The Woodshed And It AIN'T PRETTY!
I am thankful for a lot of things but one in particular is the gut feel I've been blessed with where I can see a new vehicle like the 2013 Lincoln MKZ and tell you if it's a winner or a loser within minutes of looking at it.

I remember seeing it at the auto show for the first time and after I did my walkaround and checked out the interior, my first impression was how can a Fusion look hotter and better than the Lincoln.

Well I guess I was not alone in this as the guys over at TTAC just reviewed one and if you like reading bad reviews, you'll LOVE this one.

Some highlights or should we say lowlights from their review...

"Forty seven thousand six hundred and sixty-five dollars. Take a second to visualize that. A car that is approaching $50,000, but has a fuel filler door that spontaneously pops open every morning and hangs like a limp appendage.

The MyLincoln Touch system was as crappy as ever, slow to respond and awkward to use thanks to its haptic controls. The boys at Allen Park ought to start looking very closely at UConnect, and how easy it is to make a touch screen system that actually works.

Most cars seem to have one redeeming feature that saves them from the depths of vehicular Hades. This has none. It does nothing better than a Fusion, costs as much as a decently equipped 3-Series, and displays the kind of QC issues that one would have expected from a Korean auto maker a decade ago."

Ha. My thoughts exactly. I test-drove one because Lincoln gave me a $50 mastercard to do it. So I did, and then told them everything I thought about it, including that you can either get a car that's better (the Fusion, exactly) for less or a car that's WAY better (CLA 45 AMG costs almost the same, come on now, and the ATS and 335i etc) for the same cost. The fake "engine noise" coming from the audio system is insulting.

As Insulting as the fake engine nose on M5 ...

I've said it enough times: Ford should pull the cord and let Lincoln die. Even Cadillac is far well ahead.

A bit embarrassing considering Lincoln seems to be leveraging the MKZ to spearhead its revival in the US luxury market. If I remember correctly, they refused to submit an MKZ for a comparison, for a magazine, against the Avalon, Azera, 300, etc. They would only compete with premium brands. just something ironic about that.

Certainly not a vehicle I would buy but I know 4 people who own them and absolutely love them.

There's no denying that the styling, both inside and out, is handsome and distinctive.

Looks like a take on a mechanical butterfly.
