SPIED: Lexus' RC-F Coupe Said To Be Chasing After The M4 — Story Sounds Familiar, Right?
It's a shame that this headline hasn't changed very much. "Car 'x' chases BMW [insert model here]." BMW makes the benchmark, still, and arguably that hasn't changed very much — if you're into a "driver's car."

I'll admit the Lexus IS-F was a close call for BMW's M3, at least from a road-going perspective. Both had V8s, both produced over 400 horsepower and they both were fun. Any honest critic — and a few were — would say that the IS-F just needed a few tweaks and it'd be just as good.

Hopefully that's what the RC-F can deliver. And if there's anytime for Lexus to take on BMW properly, this would be it. Since the launch of the LFA the brand's underwent a bit of a transformation from that conservative company to a brand that produces models with a bit more stride in their step. AND the word on the street is that the all-new is more fun to drive than anything else in its class.

So if Lexus built the stunning LFA that drove sublime, it built the IS-F that was only a step away from an M3 and the new IS is THAT good, can the RC-F finally be "the one?"

I don't know. But what I do know is that we've got the latest spy shots.

nope. It will still be a few steps away. little things make the BMW so much better. A lot of the control for the IS-F you find on a corolla. The same buttons just make it feel cheap. No thigh support extender, no bolster adjustment, cant control everything while driving, the M Button on all M cars is a great adjustment, no manual transmission, the leather looks better upfront on the IS-F, but wears much quicker and cheapens quickly. the BMW's leather stays the same for many years. My hands are starting to hurt, so I will stop. Good luck battling for 2nd place, Lexus.

Given that the 'M4' hasn't even been released yet, it's rather ridiculous to claim that it's being 'chased' by anything.

...so will the M3/M4 and BMW underrates their cars ridiculously so I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually around 500 horses
