Is There A BETTER Sports Car Than The 2014 Nissan 370Z For LESS Than $30,000
This just in!

The 2014 Nissan 370Z just got priced and, surprisingly, it has actually had a significant price reduction to the tune of nearly 10 percent. Reduced by more than $3,000 that means the absolute base 370Z now clocks in at $29,990.

For a car like the Nissan 370Z, which I have said on record is the best sports car under $35,000, to now go through price reduction is simply remarkable.

But this has me thinking. I am clearly bias in my opinion and I think it may have clouded my judgment. I could be forgetting of another ride under $30,000 that will deliver a rewarding sports car experience.

So, is there a BETTER sports car than the 370Z for LESS than $30,000

Nissan's press release follows:

NISSAN ANNOUNCES U.S. PRICING FOR 2014 370Z COUPE, 370Z NISMO AND 370Z ROADSTER

370Z Coupe starting M.S.R.P.* reduced by $3,130 USD
370Z NISMO and 370Z Roadster pricing unchanged
370Z NISMO features new NISMO design theme with unique exterior and interior accents

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced U.S. pricing for 370Z Coupe, 370Z NISMO and 370Z Roadster, which are on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide. The starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (M.S.R.P.) for the 370Z Coupe has been reduced $3,130 USD and $2,550 USD for the 370Z Coupe Touring grade.

The M.S.R.P. reductions on 370Z Coupe increase its competitiveness in the growing sports car marketplace. This spring, Nissan repositioned the price on seven core models with an aim to broaden the reach of customer consideration during online shopping and research. Prices for the revised 2014 370Z NISMO and 2014 370Z Roadster remain at 2013 model year levels.

The Nissan 370Z Coupe continues to offer extraordinary performance, design and an unmatched heritage as one of the most iconic sports cars in automotive history. There are no significant product enhancements for 2014. The 2014 370Z NISMO has been revised to follow the new NISMO design theme with distinctive new exterior and interior accents. Enhancements include new dark gray coloring for the front and rear fascias, lower side sills, side mirrors and NISMO rear spoiler, with each element (except side sills) featuring NISMO-style red pinstripe accents. Interior enhancements include the addition of a new steering wheel with Alcantara® appointments and red accents and a red NISMO tachometer. The 370Z NISMO continues to offer 350-horsepower 3.7-liter V6, close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, sport-tuned suspension and brakes and 19-inch forged aluminum-alloy wheels.

Like the 370 Coupe, the 2014 370Z Roadster offers unique design, performance and value – with the added exhilarating sensory experience of an advanced fully automatic convertible top. Complete details on all 2014 Z® models are available at nissannews.com.

At the Nissan dealers, I have not seen a single 370Z for less than $40,000.
The 370Z has gotten too expensive.

Of course, that's because dealer's load up cars with the options they EXPECT an owner to add to the cars so they don't have an inventory glut.

Point is if an owner wants to go ORDER a new 370Z and have a stripper for cheap they can.

Nissan wants to be the price leader of Japanese automakers, however how long are they going to milk a tired design.

It was a cutting edge look when it came out in 2002... but over a decade later without directional change in style leaves it dated IMHO. classic styling it isn't.

Disagree completely. The 370z (and even the 350z for that matter) has held up far better in terms of design than most rivals like the RX-8, Genesis, etc. The 370z's evolutionary refinements from the 350z are in line with the approach taken by premium brands like Audi, BMW, MB, Porsche, Land Rover, Jaguar. No need for a "directional change".

However, In terms of the engine and in-car technology, yes, the 370z is a bit old school. That said, I'd much prefer the 332 HP of the 370z over the GT86's 200, exhaust note be damned.

I'm certain that there will be many who say the Toyobaru twins are better sports cars. One thing I do not like about the Z is it's poor rear vision. Toyobaru twins have better visability. The Z has been crtisized for it's heavy handling and coarse sounding engine.

Call the price reduction the GT86 effect.

I agree with mini22 (gasp!) The current Z is more of a muscle car.

I dare anybody to find a 370Z packaged for under $30,000. Add floor mats and you're over $30,000. Hell, just add 3 gallons of gas and you're over.

No kidding.

The point is the base price has shifted DOWNWARDS.

Not sure if I'm the only one who actually read the question and the answer is simply no, there is no other that is based below or just at 30000 that is better than the z and quite frankly every car listed sounds ridiculous especially from that satriani1 idiot, next time just answer the question stupid, sti's cost over 30 the only car that made the least bit of sense was the gensis(I mean Porshe seriously????? I think they keep those right next to the 30k jaguars). At the end of the day the hyundai has a similar price with similar specs but Nissan is by no stretch of the imagination Hyundai, they could have raised the price of the car if they wanted to(which is what usually happens) and in all honesty that car with that beastly engine in it is a steal if you get it for 30k
