SPY PHOTOS: BMW 135ti Just Don't Call it a
This is going to be the ultimate sports-hatch by packing an extra 50+ bhp over the current BMW 130 or VW Golf R32.

Munich would love to call the car M1, but that would take away the glory from the legendary late 1970’s M1 supercar, so the range-topping 1-Series will have to do with a 135ti badge on the rear, hinting to the sophisticated 3.0-litre turbo engine delivering no less than 306 bhp!

It’s just been presented in the 3-Series coupe and should be able to turn the 1-Series into a real cannon ball on wheels.

Now I hate to say it, but that probably will be one stout little beast.

*Yawn* Wake me when they stop trying to just cram more power into small places. The masses don't really need another overpowered hatch.

mdalle, this rivals the awd R32 golf, and tester agree the R32 is better,
i cannot physically fit in the back of a 1 series without becoming a contortist, and i'm only 6 1
and the r32 is cheaper.
the 1 series is very overpriced, about 50000 dollars here. (uk)

I never said I didn't like it.....I don't even see those words "in between" my written one.

I'm just not all that excited about it. Wow, BMW is going to come out with a overpowered (IMO) hatch. Not like we've ever seen those before.

if the 335 does it in 5.5 seconds, then i think this will do it in 5 seconds ( bcoz M cars have a better suspension and transmision) and this is lighter

vladyxa,
i don't know about america, but here in the uk it is overpriced for its size and equipment. (no leather as standard, for example, or electric seats)
an a3 3.2 s line has leather and elc. seats and awd as standard for the same price.
a golf r32 is considerably better value.
and if you tell me about in accurate information, the 1 series msport does 0-62 in 5.9.
the audi s3 will be faster, and will have part leather standard, for the same price as a 130 m sport.

i just read that there will be a coupe version of the 1er, called the 2 series, and there will be an m2.
see the article on future models to see the next gen cars.
2007 and 2008 are good years to look at.

Audi FWD for summer & AWD for winter.. If you drive an Audi (VW woteva) you need different cars for different seasons? As for 300hp+ in FWD, enjoy! Just don't try turn and accelerate @ the same time!!! You know why Audi/VW need AWD? Cause the drivers are too simple to know when to go fast and when to not! Or how to go around a corner! Lil kids also have training wheels, wonder when VW/Audi will come with those??
