Is It Just Us Or Did BMW COMPLETELY Rip Off The Range Rover Evoque With the i3 Rear Profile?

Is It Just Us Or Did BMW COMPLETELY Rip Off The Range Rover Evoque With the i3 Rear Profile?
It used to be that BMW would introduce a product and then everyone would try to copy it (i.e. The Bangle Butt) but for the first time in as long as I can remember it seems they have actually mimicked a design element from one of their competitors.

When I first saw the shots of the new BMW i3 profile I was kind of in shock when I saw the profile pics.

To my eye along the side of the rear shoulder they could have just slapped an 'I HEART EVOQUE' sticker because it sure looks to us like that came RIGHT off the baby RR.

Even the orange color is a ripoff of the Evoque auto show concept.

Car companies do this all the time but not usually BMW.

What say you Spies? Do you SPY what we SPY with YOUR eyes?

And if you do does it bother you that it's being done by BMW or is that just the nature of the biz?

I think they got the look from the Pontiac Aztec. Why do these "e" cars need to be so ugly? What are you thinking BMW? Put a 3cylinder diesel in a lightweight normal looking BMW and get 60 MPG on the highway and sell it for 30K and watch them fly without all the US Government subsidies.

Exterior is a bit... much, but I'm really digging the interior. It has a nice clean contemporary look. When will that trickle down to other cars?

I think it's just you. The design is based on the original i3 concept from 2011

No relation between the two designs whatsoever

What are you smoking? No relationship at all, save that both cars are crashingly ugly. The Evoque has less of an excuse as a supposed Range Rover, though. Why do electric cars need to be ugly? Why are people so under the spell of BMW? I believe they represent an excess of testosterone. God knows what the i3 means. Really not a pleasant eyeful.

That is exceptionally ugly, even for a BMW. As for the perceived similarity to the Evoque, why not? That is pretty ugly too and considering how long it was in "gestation", it was probably a BMW design concept from way back anyway.
