Nice, but I still think the rear deck is too long.

The coupe is lighter, more rigid, and cheaper than a hardtop convertible. If you don't enjoy open-air motoring (e.g. you have allergies or are an albino) then it would be nice not to have to pay extra for a feature you don't want.

Yes, cartrash the convertible proportions dont' seem as harmonious as they do on the Coupe. Perhaps that's because of the awkwardness of getting the hardtop to fold down. The VW Eos and new Volvo exhibit some of the same awkwardness - it just seems tough to get a 4-seater cab roof to fold up into the trunk.

I hope BMW has left enough trunk room with the top down. Most retractible roofs eat up all the trunk space. If you are driving with the top down, you need to use the trunk for the stuff you're carrying so it stays out of the sun (groceries) or so it doesn't blow out of the car, or so it is secure (luggage, briefcases, beach bags, etc.).

This thing may flop if there is no trunk room.
