SPIED: IF Lexus Builds The GS-F, What Will It NEED To TOPPLE The Competition?
Although the Lexus IS-F never beat the BMW M3 in Lexus' first sports car attempt, it was pretty damn close. At least in my opinion. Considering it was the marque's first attempt, I'd say it was rather impressive.

And from what we've been seeing lately, it's pretty clear Lexus isn't throwing in the towel.

That's because it not only has one special car in the pipeline, it now is pretty clear there are TWO new "F" cars in the works. The RC-F — assuming that'll go up against the M4 — and the GS-F — set to tackle cars like the Audi RS7, BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Obviously, it has its work cut out for itself.

The latest spy images show the possible GS-F from its backside and it has the diagonally staggered quad exhaust tips and a large diameter set of wheels and tires. Though it's not a confirmation of a badass super sedan, it certainly has some of the characteristics.

But BEFORE we get going on the GS-F, I think there's one very important question that we have to ask to you, our tastemakers: WHAT does the GS-F NEED to have in order to BEAT the competition?

Does it need to have an amazing exterior and interior design? How much power is enough? V8? V10? Dual-clutch? Manual? An impressive zero to 60 time or is it better to have a faster 1/4 mile?

If YOU could architect the PERFECT GS-F, how would you do it?

...This unbadged Lexus GS was captured somewhere in Germany, probably in a garage near the Nurburgring, being worked on and fine tuned be engineers.

Our spy photographers didn’t had too much access to the location, so the photos reveal only the rear end of the car, but judging by the new sporty bits and pieces added there, we can tell it packs some power under the hood...

1st - Lexus needs to define its competition:
Performance Sedan(550i), Hyper Performance(M5) or Sporty Hybrid

2nd - Define how Lexus will compete in that segment
Value, Performance, Eco, etc.

3rd - Look at data that tells you what your target demographic wants

If Lexus wants to go up against the RS6/M5/E63 AMG:
sub 5.0 sec to 60mph
greater than .96g on the skidpad
greater than 500hp
return more than 24mpg on the highway
sub 110 feet to stop from 60 mph
MUST be engaging to drive, but not too punishing
Great looking exterior design with upgraded interior

And most importantly:
