98% Of UK Motorists Don't Have Clue What Their Warning Lights Mean

Motorists possess a notable knowledge gap when it comes to dashboard warning lights, new research suggests.

According to a survey from Britannia Rescue, 98% of drivers don’t understand what all of the most common warning or information lights on a car dashboard mean.

But it’s rather the car makers that have been blamed for using too many different symbols, often specific to that manufacturer.

I knew a guy who discovered his engine seized when he tried to go out for lunch. He wondered if it might be related to "that little red oil can light" that illuminated on his way to work. He just kept on driving, not knowing it might be important.
