BMW trails Mercedes-Benz in the U.S. market for 2013 YTD by 1,124 units due to Mercedes' strong showing in July.

Let's see who can discount the most and erode its profit margin all in the name of being the 'Best-Selling Luxury Brand in the United States!'

BMW currently has an "offer" on every model in their lineup, excepting the M cars. And these lease offers really can't go any lower without increasing the upfront cash requirement.

First, Audi's leasing offers are usually not that extensive nor are they all year like BMW's offers. They are part of the "Summer of Audi" event. Additionally, they differ by region. In my region, there are no offers for the A5/S5 coupe or convertible, S4, or Q7.

Second, Mercedes currently does not have offers for the C350 sedan or coupe, the E550 sedan or coupe. (I didn't bother checking any others) Both of these cars are drivers of sales volume.

In the Chicago area and Indiana Audi is offering cash incentives for Owner loyalty on all their models as well as paying the first month & security deposit. As well as Conquest initiatives which BMW is not doing. Plus their lease programs are tending to be a little better than the comparative BMW.

3 series is doing a good job keeping BMW in the News...

Looks like with the exception of the x1 which didn't exist last year BMW is only 457 cars ahead do last years pace. The 5, 6, 7, x3 and x6's are all down on sales as compared to last year. I suspect the reason 3 series sales are up is because of the lower price of entry that the 320i caries.
I'd also like to see how many of those cars are leased vs. bought. That's not just for BMW but for each brand.

Nice to see Cadillac's SRX outsell all of BMWs light trucks combined!
BMW LT-4985. Cadillac SRX 4943. So what it's only a few units. The RX outsold them all X1-3-5-6.
Lexus and Cadillac own that segment.
I've seen about ten 320i last month. BMW keeps going down and flooding just to sell cars.
I guess a 318i will be next every opt imaginable! Starting 27k opt up for leather, navi, backup cam (std in a civic) power seats and you can pay 40k but lease for 250 a month starting.

there is a New X5 coming out and BMW stopped building the X5 in May. I am not really sure why the SRX outsells the X3 unless it is due to pricing being less. As it is smaller, less nimble, slower and less fuel economy. Technically, Lexus owns the segment and not even close.

In the car segment, audi & BMW reign supreme as Cadillac and lexus are outsold 2 to almost 3 to 1

Well with most of BMWs under starting 50k 1, 3, 4, 5, X1, X3 they create high volume. BMWs 3 and 5 really carry the brand.
The X3 yes has more eng opt than the SXR but other than the hybrid you could say the same about the RX. SRX/X3 2/1. RX/X3 3/1
Audi has more cars than Caddy but Cadillac is outselling them by 10k units.
Ats is outselling A4 ytd.

Cannot wait to see how the Q50 and new IS sale.

lol. you've clearly never shopped for a BMW. base prices include...NOTHING. you need $10,000 in options on a 3 series just to get by. $50,000 isn't going to get you a 4-series, a 5-series, or a well equipped 3-series.

actually that is not really true. Yes you can say the base price of the 3, 4, 5, X3 is less than $50k yet if you price them out with a few options you are well over the $50k range. meanwhile the Ats, cts, srx which are really the only models Cadillac has are all well under $50k range.

We are comparing BMW to Cadillac for some reason or another. Actually aside from the Escalade and the V-series, every Cadillac model starts below $50k so I am not sure what your point is exactly??
