VIDEO: Ferrari's All-New Flagship's Design DETAILED By The Prancing Horse's Design Boss
The more I think about it, the more it seems to be true: working at Ferrari must be a really tough gig. You have to keep in mind that this is a brand that is VERY steeped in the spirit of Enzo AND is attempting to mix in the most advanced technology learned from the organization's Formula 1 team.

And when you consider it is always attempting to better itself while besting the competition in the highly competitive supercar and hypercar world, and my my you've got the makings of an onslaught of stress.

If I were to put myself in the shoes of the marque's lead designer, I personally would feel a bit overwhelmed. That's because there's so much YOU have to live up to. Ferraris not only have to be functional from an aerodynamics and cooling perspective, they ALSO have to be beautiful and have that sensuality that makes the prancing horse special. Though one could argue that's been lacking with vehicles like the edgy Enzo and F430, I think it's safe to say its voluptuous vehicles are back thanks to the 458 Italia and all-new LaFerrari.

We're here to learn more about the latter.

Being the brand's flagship it has to be off-the-charts special. In this remarkable video exclusive to Autocar, Steve Sutcliffe speaks to Ferrari's Flavio Manzone to better understand the design journey the LaFerrari went on before it came finalized.

I miss the days when Ferrari created beautiful cars. Today's and tomorrow's Ferraris looks trendy, dissonant, and disjointed. Hopefully, it's just a dark chapter in Ferrari's history, like BMW's "Flame Surface" era, which they were eager to leave behind them.

For examples of stunningly beautiful coachwork, see the McLaren 12C and 12C Spyder.

I would have to disagree with you on the McLaren 12C as "stunningly" beautiful. It's a good looking car but "stunningly" is a far stretch.

The looks for a 12C in on par with the 458, although the driving experience is a much better one. It is also fully capable of being used as a DD (and reliable enough as well), much like a Porsche can be. If they come out with a sub-100k car, Porsche may very well be shitting bricks.
