DRIVEN: FIRST Buff Book Gives The All-New 2014 Infiniti Q50 A Proper Test — Results Vary
Here we go!

We've been eagerly anticipating the first words on the all-new 2014 Infiniti Q50. That's because this is easily the brand's biggest seller and the vehicle that I believe will help us forecast the direction Audi's former leader, Johan de Nysschen, will take the Japanese automaker.

From what I've read it appears in this review that, frankly, the results of this review really vary depending on the driver and the kind of vehicle they're looking for. Given that the highlight of the new Q50 is that the vehicle can essentially drive itself is rather worrisome as the G37 was the Japanese "driver's car" that could do battle with a BMW 3-Series, arguably the European benchmark. I wonder if Infiniti even knows the customers it's trying to steal away from the likes of Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz.

Essentially, the conclusion is clear. It's definitely the automaker's best vehicle to date but if you're a numbers junkie and need to brag about the times your car can put down at the drag strip it won't be for you. In addition, it seems that Infiniti has taken a new route in making its vehicles rolling sensors with four wheels at the corners.

Seems like the marque has decided to go head-to-head with Lexus and call it a day...

What say you, Spies?

...On the streets, however, where drifting is generally off the menu and numbers don't mean as much, the Q50 still doesn't return the same level of involvement or fun as the other cars...

...
Infiniti says this is the best sedan it has ever built, and I'm apt to agree...It has some cool tech and represents the future of the brand. The styling is solid, modern, and unique without looking ridiculous like the new Lexus IS. But is that enough to play in this category? For buyers looking for more tech than driving enjoyment, this is their car...

Somewhat of a tepid review, really. I think unfortunately for Infiniti, there's really nothing about this car, at least based on this article, that begs for attention and interest. Unlike the ATS, for example, which every car review written noted its superb chassis and driving dynamics. Or unlike the IS which is getting positive reviews for the interior design.
So, outside of price, is there really a "need-to-have" reason for the Q50S? I do think its advantage, at the lower price level, is that it still offers the 328-hp engine, whereas with BMW, Audi, Lexus, and Cadillac, a lower price means a lower sized engine. Then again, the 328i and A4, despite their 4-cylinder offerings, aren't far off the Q's performance numbers while getting better fuel economy.

FAIL... no upgrades at all and looks even worse than g. Japs lost their styling across the board. there is no comparison to germans and even caddy anymore. IS, Q, TL - BIG FAIL. Give koreans 4 more years and KIA will be better than Q.
