SPIED: BMW's Upcoming X4 Spotted Out In The Open, Again
The BMW X4 is yet another iteration of BMW diving into another niche that no one asked for. Much like the X6, the X4 will be another BMW luxury sport-utility vehicle that is based on the X3 but features a more sloped roofline that gives it a more sporty look.
Since it made its debut appearance at the Shanghai Motor Show, things have been pretty quiet on the western front. Until now, that is.
Spy photographers spotted it doing some testing and shot as many photos as it could get of the upcoming SUV. It's pretty clear that many of the obvious concept elements have been riverted to production trim. Take a look at the mirrors, headlights, front/rear valences, etc.
To my eyes it looks a bit too similar to the current-gen X3. Perhaps too close.

Yeah, I have to say I am not quite "getting it" yet.
The concept looked SO much more impressive.
Maybe when we see the production version with bigger wheels and the M Sport kit it'll help it along.

So, is BMW's mission to have every odd-numbered model have sedans, SAVs, GTs, and wagons (except 7 Series…for now). And every even-numbered model to have coupes, gran coupes, SAV coupes, and convertibles?
