We're at the two-yard line. We're almost there. The wait is nearly over.
After carefully keeping an eye on the developments breaking from abroad, it seems that we're at the finish line for the most part. BMW's long-awaited M3/M4 set to make its "concept" debut at this weekend's Pebble Beach Concours is in my mind probably the biggest launch since the all-new 3-Series.
Sure, other vehicles in the lineup have more star power and others move more units in sales volume but to me if BMW doesn't get this one right, then it will forecast where the brand will be headed. The M3 and — now — M4 are following motoring legends. It's like Porsche trotting out an all-new 911.
Today marked the first teaser clip provided to us by BMW. Remaining simple in its messaging it informs us to "stay tuned." If you're expected to see much, you'll be disappointed. The good news is we hear that sweet six revving.
