MONTEREY WORLD EXCLUSIVE! First QUALITY Real-Life Photos Of BMW's New Beast! The M4 Concept
It's a day we've been anticipating for years now. Finally, its time has come.
In typical BMW tradition, it has revealed — in the flesh — the all-new BMW M4 Concept. Though we all know this is essentially exactly what the production vehicle will look like. Does that color look familiar to you? To me it looks like Phoenix Yellow. But, according to Agent 001 on the scene, it's actually dubbed "Aurum Dusk." Aurum is Latin for gold.
Well, if this is only the START of Monterey Weekend, we know one thing is for sure. It's going to be a good one.
Keep checking back for the latest Monterey Weekend updates!

Looks nice, but then again, it doesn't look that much different from the current M3.

Specs were just released on another site. 422hp 398ft-lb, and a 3,289lb curb weight!!! The weight is very impressive for the segment, its nearly 400lb less than the last M3, and 660lb less than the RS5.

bmwcs: Except in 2009 Audi said it has already been testing a prototype of the next generation S5 that is supposed to be 880 lbs lighter than the current generation S5/RS5. So it's conceivable that the next gen RS5 might be lighter, more agile and faster than this new M4 -- if these M4 weight specs are accurate and no one yet knows how this car will actually perform in real life.

Audi has been working on weight loss for its "plus" and "ultra" cars -- e.g., TT Ultra Quattro concept.

Thats good news for audi fans satraini! I Hope they do manage to trim significant weight off the RS5, and keep the price competitive. It sounds like many car maker are doing the same. Good times for car enthusiasts!

Exactly -- all this competition is great for car enthusiasts. Now if only the non-German car makers step up in the realm of these performance cars -- not only will we have better cars to choose but hopefully also lower prices.

That's 7.44 pounds per horse power...very impressive. Should not only be quicker than old M3 but much better handling as a result of weight reduction. Hope BMW applies same weight loss approach to M2 whose smaller overall size suits me just fine.

7.44 lbs/hp is better than a Carrera S/PDK. Very impressive and so is that torque at 398ft-lb v. the Porsche's 320. If BMW has the steering feel right, this car could be a great choice.

Wow...this looks good on this pics, and if the specs are so good as those published ..then RS5 and C63 will have a big challenge to create something to match this car. Still ugly hood that does not help the front at all.

The legendary Straight-6 is back for the M3/M4 in Twin-Turbo form, even better.
Let's see what exalted company this car shares - Toyota Supras, Nissan Skylines,.....Need I say more?

Overall very nice, especially the side vents which look hokey on the regular 4 series with the tacked on trim pieces. The rear diffuser/exhausts look great.. Some nits... the front intake is too busy, the rear lower bumper is too busy. Hopefully they have refined the electric steering a bit for better feel and with the nicely centered weight and low polar moment of inertia that a front/mid engine car has it should handle great and be really fun to drive compared to the competition.

GAME OVER. M3/4 simply there is no substitute. Only bmw as of late worth consideration. Bravo
