MONTEREY WEEKEND: A Rugged Off-Roader Brings Back Memories For 00R
While 001 was in Carmel by the Sea yesterday, it appears he stumbled onto something that's a pretty rare sight these days. It's a Chevrolet K/5 Blazer CST. Though I am no expert, I'll go with it being a '72.
There's something about having one of these in California or an urban sprawl like New York City that just seems so rad. It's such a simple truck and with the top off in the right weather you know it's gotta be fun.
When I was growing up I had a neighbor across the street from me. The old man cherished his K/5 Blazer and boy it was polished every sunny day. It seemed like that big truck was there forever with Roy and eventually when his kid turned of age it became his. Over the years I saw it get modified and those big tires thrown on it and there was always some sort of appeal to it.
