Oh Snap! Kia Cadenza Outranks Toyota's Avalon In Consumer Reports Top Large Sedan List
Kia Motors Corp.'s Cadenza debuted today in second place on Consumer Reports magazine's list of top large sedans, edging out the former standard-bearer in the segment, the gasoline-powered version of Toyota Motor Corp.'s Avalon.

The gas-powered Avalon ranked third among 12 large sedans rated by the influential publication, which has more than 8 million subscribers. At the top of the Consumer Reports list was the 2014 Chevrolet Impala, made by General Motors Co.

Toyota's hybrid Avalon sedan did, however, tie for second with the Cadenza.

The joke is Consumer Reports thought they were given a BMW 5 series and got so excited.

The Genesis 3.8 was second place previously in road test score, but lower ranks in reliability and mpg. Azera was sixth tying the 5 series score (from luxury category). I imagine Cadenza is a clone of the Genesis.

A more fitting headline would have been "Oh snap, dead American company outranks everyone's favourite Asian discount counterfeiter".
