As a BMV owner and fanboy I must say that this is a bit underwhelming. The e46 M3 was the the undisputed king of the racetrack and I am not sure if this will be up the task of smoking the RS4 / RS6 / R8 / IS500

vcowman, this article is about the is500, a lexus.
not the m3.
and the m3 in no way competes with the rs6 or r8.

I submited this article, but I guess you beat me to it! LOL! I think this car sounded great in the video. I have not been a fan of the Lexus brand too much, however I have liked the new IS since its introduction. I think it is the best looking of the Lexus Sedans and now seems like this one will be a screamer on the streets. How it will stack up against the new M3 will have to wait for a head to head comparison test. But this car seems very nice.

you follow the instructions, and if you have wrtten your own article, cut and paste into "summary"
it's quite simple.

logical

the unintended acceleration was the doing of 60 minutes.
the car never had that problem in europe.
it is a known fact that 60 minutes rigged the car.

Those mufflers, the way they are positioned... I am speechless. What are they thinking?

As for the car. Looks muscular and sporty. Again, I don't think this is an M3 competitor but more of a C-Class AMG rival. The Lexus philosophy is too similar to the Benz philosophy.

Can't wait to see the #'s on this thing. I like the mufflers it’s different, maybe a little body cladding around it to integrate it more into the body style (kind of like the LF-A concept)

Yawnnnnnn!! The extremely tacky stacked exhausts have to go. Looks like something a drunk wearing dark sunglasses put together on a cold foggy night while trying to fix his house plumbing. That aside lets see how it will perform when it hits the streets.. The car may look bland, but may well have good performance. Lexus has taken a beating over the years because their supposedly sporty models (SC, GS and IS) have been completely void of any factors that can be characterized as sporty.. You never know they may surprise us all this time around by finally creating a Lexus that can be called sporty... I'd like to keep an open mind, but I wouldn't hold my breath......

stacked exhausts are so chavvy.

and i would't call any lexus "sporty"
fast, maybe (they don't sell the is 350 in the uk)
sporty?
no.

BMW530i:

Lexus' philosophy is too similar to Mercedes'. But, has anyone noticed how they're starting to pull away from copying other ideas and perfecting them? They're starting their own designs and technologies now. They must have realized that it would be more competition for the other luxury brands.
