SPIED: If The All-NEW Ford Mustang Has THIS Face, Is It Going To Be AWESOME or AWFUL?
In the muscle car world that has taken the States by storm again, it's hard to argue with the Ford Mustang. That's because it's easily the most lively and has arguably the best powertrain right now. In recent years Ford has made some seriously big improvements to the car that brought it from being a 300 or so horsepower sloppy handling V8 to a 5.0-liter V8 good for more than 400 ponies with a much-needed suspension upgrade.

But, of course, when things start gelling together it seems that Ford has something up its sleeve. That would be the all-new Mustang.

Considering how far the brand has come, this is actually a very exciting time. You don't have to look too far to see that the American automaker is making huge leaps in its products — check out the new Ford Explorer and Ford Fusion.

One thing about the Mustang that drives a significant chunk of its appeal is its look. The most recent version will be tough to top with its vintage-inspired looks. If I am honest, Ford has never done a good job with its Mustang's designs once they go too far from the beaten path. Take, for example, the Fox body Mustangs.

And from what we're seeing it appears that Ford will be taking a bit of a walk on the wild side with the all-new car. It seems to take a lot of inspiration from the Ford Taurus SHO with its large-faced grille and squinty headlights.

That said, what say YOU? If THIS is the all-new Ford Mustang's face, is it AWESOME or AWFUL?

About what I'd expect. The main thing is how it handles. Does the chassis and overall build quality take it another level? The exterior styling will be predictable and probably nice overall. Will the interior be a jump up like the C7? We'll see. I hope it's a 335 competitor with an American accent.

While the grill is close to the look of the Fusion it's not identical. I think the face looks aggressive enough. It's really now how the rest of the car looks. It also appers that the car is smaller than the current Stang. If that is the case and if they can keep the curb weight down to say 3100 LBS even the V6 should be a quick car. If true 0-60 for a the V6 should break 5 seconds. The GT should be making 4 seconds or less. That is certainly quick for this price range.

hope not. I have seen better renders before.

The rendering I saw of the new Mustang (in red) was promising. It definitely looked updated & less retro. But Ford has a way of "souring" rather flashy concepts to a point were the production model is just "ho-hum" generic. The Mustang deserves a mega-ultra exterior update that completely indicates that Ford means "business" in the Pony Car competition.
