Dear GM/Cadillac

If the Allante and XLR taught you anything, it is that no one wants to buy an overpriced Cadillac Coupe. While a great styling showcase, the market seems to think that the most your customers are willing to pay for one of your vehicles is around the $70k mark, not the spitting distance from $100k that you would bring it to market.

Nonsense. People will pay for the vehicle that they think is built well and confers a certain status and style, and there’s nothing that says that the the El Miraj can’t do that.

Using your logic, just because Allantè didn’t sell as planned (for reasons that you simplify remarkably) doesn’t mean that they should give up.

Though I get the feeling that if they were foreign, you’d be a bit more forgiving.

Not at all. Why I like the styling, I would no more pay $100k for a CL, Gran Tourismo or M6 than I would for this vehicle.

My point is that for the money, there are better options. Yes, a few of those options are made in a part of the world that has had some "aggression" issues, but you know what you're getting. With Cadillac, you may get a great car, or you could get a shinny turd, but you're still out of the 100k this car would cost if it makes it into production.

Do you think Cadillac can bring this car to market for under $90k?

Why not, People pay $90,000 for an Escalade which is just a Chevy Tahoe/Suburban/Avalance with a different front end, tail lights and instrument cluster.
