If The Next Gen Mustang Looks Like This, Would You Fork Over Your Cash To Buy One?
New images of the next-gen Ford Mustang showcase what the carmaker has in store for its brand-new model.

Known internally as the S550, the sixth-generation Ford Mustang has what it takes to be one of the hottest cars of 2014. It’s going to be aggressive, streamlined, with styling cues taken from the Evos concept and the current model. To broaden its appeal, Ford has taken a knife to the current model's retro styling and created a sports car that will appeal to the masses. After all, it plans to sell the 2015 Stang across the globe as the carmaker’s ‘One Ford’ policy kicks in.

I think it looks good, I just don't want one. I need a back seat.

You want the cop car/CHP version with the big motor, aka LX 5.0.

I'm not a fan of the render, but I know it won't look that good when it hits production.

I will not be buying one, but I'm impressed that Ford has finally decided to make their version of the Nissan Z. The side profile, except for the deck-lid, is pure 280z, it's too big to be the 240Z.

For all the talk of a revolutionary change for the next gen Mustang, I don't think it really is such a dramatic stylistic departure from the current generation. Sure the headlight design is a bit more modern, but the overall proportion, profile, character is very similar. Changing up the B-pillar design would do more to differentiate the next generation than any other changes they appear to have made. And I hope they don't keep the awkward white elements in the taillight design.

some of the proportions and lines on both the front end and back end seem off to me. could just be the render, though

I'll simply say the renduring is probably semi accurate. The headlamps seem very narrow and squinty compared to the recent front end face reveal. Also not so sure about the tail lamps. The overall shape looks about right. If in fact the car is between 175 and 180 inches long and weighs in at around 3200 LBS it would certainly be a car worth considering. Power to weight ratio ought to be excellent even for the V6(which I would assume would be pushing 320 HP for 2015). I would wonder if the V8 would be too front end heavy now with a lighter weight and shorter wheelbase. I wonder if Ford considered a transaxle with the tranny in the rear. That would give it some better front to rear balance.kind of Fords cheaper version of a Porsche 928.

no, it looks like ugly chop of current stang. No way in hell the car will look like that.

Awesome "modernization." Let's hope they keep the weight and size in proportion to the original lightweight and compact mustang.
