The Spies Drop A Bomb With Everything You Need To Know About Volkswagen's ENTIRE 2014 Lineup!
The life of a Spy is pretty tough these days. If you aren’t mingling with the celebrities and the beautiful people at Monterey, you are touring the Nissan 360 World Event admiring the cars that made history. And if you are our own Agent001 you couldn’t miss the Volkswagen Media Event in Napa previewing the 2014 models with a host of changes and new arrivals.
Interesting to note is that VW dropped the 2.5 liter 5 cylinder for the 1.8 turbo, which is more powerful and easier on the gas as well. Having driven the 2.5 liter in various models from time to time I would say it reminded me of a typical Japanese power plant. Yes, the power was there but the experience was rather unremarkable compared to the turbocharged four cylinders. Agent001 is reporting that there simply are no drawbacks with the new 1.8 liter turbo with power up, torque up and mileage up as well.
What does 2014 have in store? A new EOS, the return of the Scirocco and a GSR Type Beetle? The sky is the limit here, but it won’t be boring. A few sample shots of the almost 400 gathered at the event complete with slide by slide details so it was almost like you were there, except for the wine and cheese.
Agent001 was so busy testing the new models that he ALMOST missed the Wagu steak dinner! Now that is dedication! After the meal he said the diesel Touareg was one of his favorites but the new rear suspension under the Jetta made it a serious contender in class.
A special note here Volkswagen Of America supplied lodging, meals and the wide variety of cars to test for this review.

Damn I wish I could've waited a few months for the 2014, just bought a 2013 TDI Sportwagen 6-spd to replace my family hauler Sienna, and it is KILLER. That TDI moves and handles like no other family hauler I've ever had. The shifter, synchros, clutch is soooo smooth. God I love it! This diesel engine is my new favorite - I look forward to the new replacement TDI engine in 2015.

I don't know that you should really call yourselves "Spies" anymore, since all you really do is post links to other publications' articles.

OK, I see a lot of pictures, but where's all the info on the new models? Those few shots of their PowerPoint presentation doesn't say much. I'm not going to look through a 19 page gallery in the hope that there's some actual information there.
