2014 Chevrolet Malibu LS To Start At $22,965

General Motors Co. said Wednesday its refreshed 2014 Chevrolrt Malibu will start at $22,965 for the LS model and its base 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine will give drivers a 14 percent boost in city fuel economy.

The Detroit automaker has quickly reworked the Malibu with new interior changes including a redesigned center console and more rear seat room, plus a new front face to help boost sales after the new-for-2013 model failed to resonate with buyers and win sales. The 2013 Malibu came out in phases beginning about 18 months ago.

Malibu sales are down 19.6 percent year-to-date through July. GM sold 12,473 of the sedans in July. Some competitors in the large midsize segment sell 30,000 or more vehicles a month.

Looks like two separate design teams designed the front from the A pillar forward while another did the side, and they had no input or communication until it was time to put everything together. that front end is blocky and doesn't flow with the rest of the body. just like what Cadillac did to the second generation Escalade. A squared front end and then rounded sides. looks like two different vehicles fused together at the A pillar.

The new Malibu is a gorgeous car, with understated, masculine lines. The 2013 car is an improvement over the 2012 (and less soapy-looking, which is always a good thing), and I expect the 2014 model to continue trend.
