FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: ANOTHER Jaguar CX17 Photo LEAKS! Is THIS Going To Be The Car That STEALS The Show?
Wow! That's all I can say right now because the other day one picture leaked of the all-new Jaguar CX17 concept that's slated to debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). Now we have a second image and I have to say if this is the real deal, Jaguar has another winner on its hands. Mark my words.

Though details are nill at this point It appears that the sport-utility vehicle is not as small as originally thought. Can you say Audi Q5, BMW X3, Cadillac SRX, Lexus RX, Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, Porsche Macan competitor?

The good news is that while this Jag is clearly in its concept stage, I'd wager if this goes into production its exterior design will stay relatively close to this.

Given all this, what say YOU? Is the Jaguar CX17 going to be the car that HEADLINES the Frankfurt Motor Show?

Style-wise, it's okay. It's like a blind date whom you describe as "not unattractive". It really says Mazda CX-9 to me, which isn't a good or bad thing. I don't really think any of the mentioned competitors and including the RDX and FX would really have much to worry about.

And it looks awfully tight inside.

I hate Jaguar for going this route, especially as a sibling with Land Rover. Same problems as ANY compact SUV, which 99% of the public ignore. But let's refresh the old topic:

Front clip no higher than in a sedan, ground clearance vs. wheelbase too low, tire sidewall too low. Result - offroad FAIL

Engine and drivetrain weight too high in the vehicle, unsprung mass too high due to the wheel size, overall center of gravity poor. Result – onroad FAIL

Seat height too low off the floor due to oversized wheel clearance and powertrain constraints, poor rear visibility, cargo room severely restricted in relation to overall vehicle size class. Passenger comfort reduced by the requirement of a stiff suspension to control mass. Result – practicality FAIL

Inefficient body profile and large grill reduce gas mileage and limit highway performance. Handling restricted by high center of gravity and large mass. Braking restricted by high center of gravity (induces nose dive) and large mass. Result – driving enjoyment FAIL

Overall result – they will sell tons of them and win awards.

STEAL the show?

How do figure? It's a me-too product and it's years later to market than everybody else.

I'm sure they'll sell their share though.

The only reason I can see someone buying this is the same reason Aston Martin sells the Toyota iQ based Cygnet. A person needs a CUV and wants to stay in the Jaguar family. Otherwise it's very plain and not worthy of the Jaguar badge.

First of all, they should only debut a new car in gray or silver to get a better idea of the "cuts" I like it though. Looks like it's related to the new RR Sport.
