Successful diesel initiative boosts US business

For the first time in the company’s history, AUDI AG car sales already surpassed the one million mark in August. From January through August, around 1,030,450 customers around the world chose an Audi, a year-on-year increase of 7.2 percent. The company continued its growth trend last month with an 9.8 percent increase to around 118,650 deliveries. Sales for the brand with the four rings once again rose sharply in North America (+19.6%) and in the Asia-Pacific region (+22.4%).

“With double-digit growth, the United States and China again take the lead in Audi’s positive performance in August. We are therefore well on track to reach our strategic target of 1.5 million deliveries this year,” says Luca de Meo, Member of the Board of Management for Sales at AUDI AG. “In Europe, there is still a strong headwind in many markets. The A3 Sedan will be launched here beginning next week and will provide an additional impulse.”
