FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: FIRST REAL-LIFE Pictures Of The Audi Sport Quattro Concept, Possible Flagship?
At the auto shows in recent years, Audi has been toying around with us and the idea of a Quattro remake. And, the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) wasn't any different. That's because, once again, the Quattro made yet another appearance.
This time it had a very, very interesting twist.
That would because this time it features a biturbo V8 plus a lithium-ion battery pack that puts total output at nearly 700 horsepower. According to the internet rumormill, that means this would be a flagship vehicle for Audi that would actually sit above the much loved R8 sports car.
From where I am sitting it appears that if Audi actually produces this thing it will be its competitor to the likes of the BMW i8.
That said, enjoy the plethora of shots below...

Maybe all this V8 talk is just for show and this is actually the next TT? It would definitely be an upgrade in design, although those headlamps look like a lot like the ones on a Chevy Sonic. Nice overall though, as small coupe / roadster.

Flagship? I hope not! This is thing is terrible looking (for an Audi), so bland!

Well done coupe; as always nice job on the interior and exterior doesn't look over-the-top like some auto makers trying too hard to be different.

I still think the R8 eats this thing for lunch with regards to exterior design.

I really hope Audi does not produce this thing. The design is a bit overwrought. They took the elegant design of the 2010 concept and essentially porked it up. The 2010 design was better looking and I think more in line with the original Quattro. At over 4,000 LBS this flies in the face of light and agile. Also to make $200,000 vehicles on a grand scale and boast about it really sends a message that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.I think a more realistic approach would be to take the exterior and interior design elements and apply them to current production Audi's. I think the mid cycle refresh for the A3, A4 and 2014 TT would be more appropriate.
