FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: CAR WARS! The Infiniti Q30 And Lexus LF-NX Square Up — WHICH One Walks Away The Winner?
At the Frankfurt Motor Show there were two very clearly distinct polar opposites when it came a car war: The angular and hard-edged Lexus LF-NX and the more swoopy and sensual Infiniti Q30 Concept. Question is simple. Which would YOU want?
To us it's clear that both products are on the extreme side and will likely get quite a bit diluted from as we see them today — assuming they make production. It's not like seeing a Chevrolet Camaro that just needed some elements made real. Even so though these productions from Lexus and Infiniti are quite telling where both marques will be taking their respective compact sport-utility vehicle.
Lexus is shooting for the more edgy design that will evoke a response. Essentially it's an IS that has had some design elements amplified even more.
Infiniti, on the other hand, is going for a more curvaceous and less abrasive design. Essentially, it's an Essence and Etherea combined.
That said, WHICH one would YOU walk away with, purely based on exterior design?

For my personal taste, no.

These cars are proof that if the Americans and Europeans build high quality, beautiful cars, the Japanese will decline as an automotive force. There is no winner here, the only curves of any interest are the models on the stands next to these monsters. Both are simply hideous....

Ugh with these two clowns I think everyone else walks away the winner.

The big winner of the competition between the Inifiniti and the Lexus is the Mercedes GLA.

Neither is an appealing design. However, Lexus wins this for the amount of attention and discussion that has been generated as a result of the concept. At least for Lexus, it has the opportunity to potentially make some design changes, based on all of the feedback, for the production model. For Infiniti, this concept is probably closer to a production model, so the public will get something very close to what we see here.

Sorry but the Lexus is too much even as a prototype. I'll stick to the I in a different color

neither. both scary, angular and bizarre looking. and both have zero chance of production given the incredible costs associated with many of those folds and lines.

The Infiniti is actually quite attractive. Name a Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, BMW or Mercedes SUV model that's better looking.

I agree especially if that is going to be a replacement to the ex it is leaps and bounds better.

The LF-NX looks like an old alien creature suffering from an overdose of crystal meth. The taillamps look like large rupturing blood clots. Not a good thing. The Nissan passes, but the rose gold color is too feminine for what it is or appears to be.

When I saw a picture of the LF-NX earlier this week, I thought immediately of the woman, Jocelyn Wildenstein, who had cosmetic surgery to make herself look like a cat/lion - truly the stuff meant to populate nightmares.
