Honda Again Considering MX-5/FR-S Rival
We’ve been hearing about Honda’s on again-off again internal debate on whether to build an S2000 successor. Until last year’s launch of the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ, such a car from Honda didn’t seem likely in the near future, but the former two has changed things.

Honda is watching two competing Japanese automakers have all of the fun in the affordable RWD sports car segment. With the next-gen Mazda MX-5 due very soon, Honda is rumored to be now considering a new small roadster of its own.

Honda is simply clueless. No wonder my Janpanes roomate said Honda was always considered the last of big 3. Toyota is grabing everyone's share now, even from 'sporty' Nissan.

First, if the car looks like this rendering, then Honda should just keep it.

Secondly, Honda needs a more direct successor to the S2000 not a Miata competitor. If they want to do a Miata competitor, keep it a Honda, but make a higher-end true S2000 replacement as an Acura.

I don't want to see the "new Honda" make ANYTHING after how neutered the Civic Si is. The S2000 is over let it rest in peace.
