Man Sledgehammers His Own BMW Outside Frankfurt Motor Show
We all know car trouble can be frustrating.

But this man has taken his anger to a whole other level, after smashing up his £100,000 BMW with a SLEDGEHAMMER in protest at what he claims is a failure to fix the problems with his motor.

Pourmohseni Hadi and a friend were filmed taking a hammer and an axe to his black BMW M6 outside the annual Frankfurt Auto Show - the world's biggest motor show - after Hadi's frustration reached boiling point.

He claims he has had to deal with multiple problems with his vehicle since buying it in 2008, including vibrations, rattling and severe jolts during gear changes.

At introduction, the SMG transmission was known to have jerky movements if not driven properly between the manual and auto modes. This would have been communicated to the customer by just by experiencing it during a test drive. What's most telling is this guy kept the car for five years. If it was a lemon, why would he keep it so long? He's got money, he could have easily have gotten something else more to his liking.

Reading the article implies his only issue was really with the SMG transmission. It's clear BMW made considerable efforts to satisfy this customer, the last of which he seemingly ignored several months ago. If he wanted to destroy what was essentially a 5-year old, $20K used BMW, that is fine. But in reality this was just a temper tantrum style publicity stunt. I doubt this have any negative impact on the typical customer for this car.

Also, BMW no longer uses this transmission in the 3 or 6-series because its driveability sucked for the average driver. Depending on which 6-series model you select now, you can get a 6 speed manual, 8-speed automatic or their version of the dual clutch auto (DCT).
