Delightful Or Disappointment? 2014 BMW 428i M Sport Gets Run Through The Paces
At first glance, I found myself disappointed with the overall aesthetic of the production version of the BMW 4 Series. Coming from the strong, aggressive stance of the 4 Series Concept Coupe, the bar was set quite high. I particularly enjoyed the front and rear lower valences as it pulled something different into the design not previously found on BMWs with the integration of the air dam at the front and subtly hidden exhaust at the rear.

The production version left me feeling a bit deflated with something that fell very clearly from the 4 Series Concept but much closer to a two-door version of the F30 3 Series Sedan. The BMW 4 Series Coupe isn’t a disappointment on a standalone basis but its a tough battle to fight when it stands in comparison to the well-received 4 Series Concept.

Good review, I guess. I would expect that a BMW coupe would drive well.

But, based on overall design, it just leaves me cold. I'll probably get blasted for saying this, but the 4 Series just doesn't look like a $50-$60k car. Maybe that'll be different in person, but I'm doubting that. To me, the A5/S5 and E-Class Coupe both look like cars worth their prices, even in "base-model" form. The fact that you have to pay extra for the M-Sport package to make the car not look as homely is just an additional turn-off to me.

BMW seems to have dulled the looks of the car and the only versions I like to look at are the M Sports... This is not impressive looking imo. I liked my 3er Coupe better and it didn't have the M Sport package... The A5 is sexier and more expensive looking than this by far. The Volvo coupe concept I saw will blow away this in the style department too. Watch out BMW, you better realize you are losing this market with your crappy numb steering and uninspired base styling

I completely disagree as so far the driving and personal interaction with clients on this car have been very impressive. I was going to get a X1 3.5i M-sport to replace my 135i coupe, yet after driving the 435xi coupe I am going to get a Estoril Blue w/ Black leather 435i M-sport package .... car is so much larger than either the Audi & Mercedes and looks much more beefy. Much better than the actual pictures

I like the look of the M Sport and Luxury Line. Don't like the Sport Line front end. Wish I could get the saddle brown and inlay wood from the luxury line on the M Sport. From everything I've read the new 4-series is the best in the class and one of the best cars BMW makes right now. That's what annoys me the most, not being able toget the car the way I want it.

Sadly, the front looks better on the 3 series station wagon. Nothing uniquely compelling about the design of the coupe

British mag Autocar also thinks the same, not enough to be in the E or A5 coupe class , inside and outside it looks like the C class competitor and I prefer the C..it looks better...specially the AMG versions.... this looks already outdated...
