Porsche Macan Pricing To Start At ONLY $52,000 - Turbo To Begin At $75,000
The Porsche Macan won’t be officially unveiled until next month’s LA Motor Show, but first technical details on the Audi Q5 sized SUV have leaked online.

Pictures of various slides, taken during a presentation at a dealer conference, confirm two six-cylinder turbos will be offered at launch: a 3.0-litre in the Macan and a 3.6 in the Macan Turbo.

No power outputs have been revealed, but the latter is a new addition to Porsche’s line-up. A petrol four-cylinder and four and six-cylinder diesels are expected, too. Prices are listed as $52,000 (£32,000) for the Macan and $75,000 (£46,500) for the Turbo.

It is the size of a Audi Q5 or Acura RDX, which sell for $15-20k less? So ONLY is pretty stupid to emphasize. It is overpriced, but will sell to Porschephiles easily

Let the fools with deep pockets start lining up for this over priced nonsence that is also hard on the eyes. Looks like a large version Fiat.

Base of $52K? That's hopefully very wrong, because the larger Cayanne SUV currently has a lower MSRP of $49.6K and having an "upside-down" price struture would be phenominally stupid.

Plus .. it is also pretty foolish to try to price-point this high, given that it is common knowledge that the Macan is based on the Audi Q5...and this MSRP is roughly a +50% markup...its pretty insulting.

In addition, given that the mantra has been that the Macan is to significantly grow the sales volume of the Porsche marquee, having yet another vehicle at the now-crowded $50K price point (Boxter+Cayman+Cayanne+Macan?) is simply self-defeating Cannibalism.

IMO, the highest that Porsche should have priced the base model would be at a $45K MSRP ($44.9) .. particularly since we all also know how notorious Porsche is at asking very high prices for optional equipment.

The math is off here. Just because the Macan starts at 32,000 GBP, does not mean it will be $52,000. The Cayenne S is 57,500 GBP, but the US version Cayenne S does not come in at $92,000, its priced at $66,000. With that logic, the Macan will probably be somewhere in the $40,000 range, maybe a bit over.

Found a clue in a different news outlet ... Looks like the $52K is going to be for an "S" model, with the implications that a less expensive (non-S) model will come along in a year or three.
While that sounds promising, the recent reality has been that price inflation eats up most of any current within-year differences between the base and the S, so while this does suggest a mod-40s price point, by the time hat it ships, it will be 50.
